Meet Eric, HRCU's Mortgage Origination Manager. With over 10 years of experience, Eric brings a wealth of experience, knowledge and joy to our mortgage team. Eric leads a team of talented and friendly mortgage experts that helps our members find their forever home.
Tell us about your professional background.
I was given an opportunity to become a Mortgage Loan Officer about 5 years after graduating from the University of Maine and jumped at the opportunity. I have been a lender for over 10 years now. It has taken me from Central Maine to Seacoast NH. I have a chance to work for large nationwide lenders, regional banks, and now a local community credit union. Working for a local community credit union allows me to help more members who otherwise might not have had any opportunity for home ownership.
What is your role in the mortgage process and what are some common questions you help members work through?
As the Mortgage Origination Manager, I get to work in two separate and distinct roles within the credit union. First, I am a loan officer. I have the pleasure of working directly with our members and assisting them in buying their first home, dream home, or investment property. I can also assist our members with their financial success by educating them on how their equity in the property can work for them. I am very active and engaged supporting our community and you are very likely to see me at a number of events. Secondly, I work with senior management to help provide insights on programs that could help support our members even more.
What do you love about helping our members?
Helping our members achieve the goal of homeownership has become even more of a challenge over the past few years. When we are able to facilitate the dream of homeownership, it is a very rewarding/gratifying experience. In today's world, we spend a lot of time on the educational piece so that we can ensure our members are familiar with the homebuying or refinance process.
