Important ID verification update for out-of-state withdrawals

Starting May 1, 2025, the CO-OP Shared Branching network is introducing a new ID verification step for withdrawals at all participating branches outside of your state of residence. This is to enhance the security of your account and prevent fraud.

If you are traveling out of state and need to access your HRCU account to make a withdrawal at a participating Shared Branching location, you will now be required to complete multi-factor authentication using a QR code and one-time passcode (OTP) through a mobile device.

Here's how it works:

  • Scan the QR code presented at the branch or go to verify.coop.org.
  • Type in the name of your credit union.
  • Enter your member number and the last four digits of your Social Security number.
  • Upload a photo of your ID.
  • Take a selfie to confirm your identity. (Tip: You can save your validation for a quicker experience next time.)
  • Show the one-time passcode to the teller (valid for 20 minutes).
  • This verification is only for when you bank at a CO-OP Shared Branching location with an out-of-state ID. It does not apply when you use CO-OP ATM locations.
